Fastbraces ® is truly a story of good old fashioned story of American ingenuity and though you may not have heard about or are familiar with Fastbraces® technology it’s been around for 25 years.

Dr. Anthony D. Viazis

Dr. Anthony D. Viazis is the American orthodontist in Dallas, Texas who invented and patented the original bracket system behind FASTBRACES® Technologies. He holds two dental degrees, one from the University of Athens in Greece and one from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. He earned his Masters of Science degree as well as his Graduate Certificate in the specialty of orthodontics at the University of Minnesota.


He has held held academic faculty positions at the University of Minnesota, Baylor College of Dentistry and the University of Southern California in the USA and had been a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a Visiting Professor of the University of São Paulo in Brazil. The Award he is most proud of is the “Teacher of the Year” of the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry, given to him after his very first year of teaching.

Fastbraces® Early Years, Research & Development

There is a long history of science and testing behind Fastbraces®. Dr. Viazis published the first scientific paper on his ‘orthodontic bracket’ system (later to become Fastbraces® starting in 1986 with the first clinical results in 1993 and were presented American Association of Orthodontists. These first clinical and research results were published in the Journal of Clinical Orthodontics in the United States and the Journal STOMA in Europe, respectively.

All in all there is 30 years of scientific research and development behind Fastbraces®. The bottom line is that Fastbraces® has been extensively researched, tested by thousands of peers and recognized in 2001, the U.S. District Court acknowledges evidence of the “unique and innovative” Viazis bracket (FASTBRACES®) stating:
“To be sure, the record contains evidence that the Viazis bracket may be a unique and innovative new type of orthodontic device exceeding, in some senses, the quality level of competitive devices”

Fastbraces® the Growth Years

Dr. Viazis opened the first FASTBRACES® locations outside of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in Texas. The first international location of FASTBRACES® opens in Athens, Greece by Dr. Viazis’ brother, Dr. Evangelos Viazis. More and more dentists in multiple states in the U.S and elsewhere in countries around the world become FASTBRACES® providers.


From humble beginnings and after years of research and testing Fastbraces has now gone global with hundreds of practitioners across the world offering the amazing benefits of Fastbraces technology. In support of  this Dr. Viazis created Orthoworld®, the company that licenses the FASTBRACES ® brands and products to dentists worldwide. As President of Orthoworld® and with the belief that simplicity is the most powerful force in business and that a smile is the expression of happiness, he has dedicated his life to bringing the technology of FASTBRACES® to children and adults all over the world.
